Barrister Brewing and Friends of the Shiawassee River Celebrate Lake Sturgeon Reintroduction with Special Beer Release and Community Event

Owosso, MI — Barrister Brewing Company is proud to partner with the Friends of the Shiawassee River for a special community celebration on Sunday, August 17, marking the exciting reintroduction of the iconic Lake Sturgeon to the Shiawassee River.

The event will feature a ceremonial hand tapping of a brand-new beer release: “Riparian Rights,” a hazy New England IPA brewed specifically for the occasion. Crafted with Michigan-native Mackinac hops, this lower-ABV beer delivers bright notes of pine and citrus, evoking the natural beauty of Michigan’s wilderness.

“We wanted to create something that speaks to the river, the community, and the mission of restoration,” said Barb Nees, partner at Barrister Brewing Co. “'Riparian Rights' is our toast to bringing back a vital part of the river’s ecosystem.”

David Richardson, board member of the Friends of the Shiawassee River, will be on hand for the ceremonial tap, alongside other members of the organization. Attendees are invited to learn more about the organization’s mission, ask questions, and support ongoing conservation efforts.

As a thank-you for community support, Barrister Brewing will offer a special gift to anyone who donates to the Friends of the Shiawassee River during the event.
